Analysis Of Target Audience For Existing Horror Films
This target audience research has helped me determine my target audience. As seen in my research horror films are usually aimed towards younger males. Although the trailer is going against a lot of conventions I'm not going to go against convention here. This is because my research shows that when films are aimed at young males they make a lot of money at the box office and furthermore are better rated for that same reason.

Target Audience
I’ve decided to aim my film at Males between the ages of 15+. This age means that i can include some sensitive content but not a lot. At first i thought i’d aim it at 18+ but then i thought that most teenage boys like horror films and below 15 is far too young but above 15 will enjoy the film. I’ve aimed it at males because usually men don’t get scared as easily as women do. Further females don’t usually go to the cinema without friends or without their partner.

Shotlist
This is the shot list for the trailer. As you can see the headings across the top there's so much information to go on when we make the film. It isn't finished yet but I've just posted it to show that i know how to make and represent a shot list. The final piece will be uploaded.

Annotated Hand Drawn And Computer Based Ancillary Products
Here is my hand drawn poster idea and the computer version that I've made to show the content that I've used. The main image takes up most of the poster and is central in the poster because I think it's the most important convention on the poster and that it will catch the audiences eye better. The title is just below the main image because the audience's eyes will naturally glance down after looking at the image so the second thing they will see if the title of the film. The credits are going to be in a small font so they don't take any attention away from the poster and the tagline is at the top so again it doesn't take too much attention from the rest of the poster but the audience will read it last and so that sentence will be on the audience's mind as they walk away from the poster. The typography is in red because the connotations mean danger and blood which further adapts this poster into a horror poster.

Here's my hand drawn magazine idea and a computer based version to make clear where all of my content is going to be on the screen. The main image is on the left of the magazine because it means it's in the first third going over into the second third. What this means is that the audience will see it first (the first third) and will spend more time looking at it (the second third). It's overlapping the title because it shows that the film is a big film because it's more important than the magazine itself. The sell lines are down the right hand side or the last third. this means that although this will be seen last some more time will be spent reading the sell lines which in turn means the audience will spent more time looking at the magazine.
The colours I want to use are all dark colours for stuff like the background and the the colour of the font as well. I also want to use dark red as the colour of the title because of the dangerous and bloody connotations of the colour. I also want to use a little bit of white on the poster just to make the slogan stand out a bit but not so much that it was take attention away from the title.

Inspiration For Teaser Poster
The Mockingjay poster is truly amazing. The iconic symbol of the Mockingjay from the movie has become an icon of the movie. When people see that symbol they automatically think of the movie. This is the same effect that I want to have with The House Guest. So taking inspiration from this poster I will also fill most of the space with the symbol that I want to use to link with The House Guest. On the other hand I'm only taking inspiration from this for my teaser poster so I will only have the symbol
and the release date on my teaser poster.
and the release date on my teaser poster.
